Job Description
The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing goods and services required by the organization. The role involves identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, monitoring inventory levels, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining compliance with procurement policies and procedures
Key Responsibilities
Source and evaluate suppliers to obtain quality goods and services at competitive prices.
Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement activities to prevent stock shortages.
Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases.
Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Inspect received goods and verify that they meet required specifications.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
Prepare procurement reports and provide regular updates to management.
Resolve procurement-related issues, including delays, shortages, and supplier performance concerns.
Support cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certification in Procurement and Supply (e.g., CPSP or CIPS) is an added advantage.
Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management is an added advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Knowledge of procurement procedures and supplier management.
